We currently have vacancies for Senior Systems Engineers - Team Lead at our site in Warton.

As a Senior Systems Engineer - Team Lead, you will be joining a highly skilled, professional team within the Mission Systems Community. You will be working on the latest mission systems technology such as Tempest, Typhoon and future project programmes and supporting the system requirements throughout the engineering lifecycle to ensure the product is delivered on time and within budget.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work with cutting edge technologies, gaining exposure to an extensive portfolio of products both manned and unmanned, from weapons to radar or electronic warfare. You will be working across significant international contracts which will provide you with excellent opportunities for personal development.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Systems Engineer - Team Lead will involve:

Leading and managing the complex systems programmes

Building strong working relationships with internal and external customers and leading, mentoring and developing a small team of engineers

Supporting systems requirements management e.g. capture, manipulation and management of systems requirements

Supporting the systems research and development

Managing the scheduling of activities and ensuring they are delivered in the agreed timescale and within budget

Managing the certification of the systems be supporting the integration, installation, qualification and acceptance

Analysing the systems safety requirements, structuring and partitioning of the complex systems integration

Your skills and qualifications as a Senior Systems Engineer - Team Lead:

Essential:

HNC/Degree or equivalent experience within a STEM subject

Demonstrable knowledge of the system engineering lifecycle with ability to apply good systems engineering practices to your work

Experience of fulfilling customer requirements to timescale and budget

Previous experience of leading and managing programmes

Knowledge and understanding of testing and validation lifecycle phases

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Packages i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint etc.

Desirable:

Chartered engineer or willing to work towards this i.e. CIEF

Knowledge of the European Product Safety, CE and EMC legislation

You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills that will allow you to build strong working relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders. You will be a strong problem solver with excellent organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.
