Would you like to play a key role within the Electrical Maintenance team? We currently have a vacancy for an Electrical Technician at our site in Glascoed.
As an Electrical Technician, you will be providing a safe, professional and competent Electrical service to Operations to ensure smooth, safe and optimal performance from all plant and machinery with maximum "availability / up time".
This role will provide you with the opportunity to work within a niche sector and role, working on a variety of systems, with the chance to further your skills and abilities.
Your main responsibilities as an Electrical Technician will involve:
Following Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) guidelines within the Engineering Services department in accordance with Site Policies
Providing a proactive and technical resource to solve plant, equipment and control systems faults
Ensuring the sites LV and HV Electrical Infrastructure, plant and equipment are maintained in an efficient working and legally compliant condition
Interacting with the computerised maintenance management system to ensure maintenance work queues are managed effectively and 'your customer' is updated appropriately
Assisting in the reduction of the sites utilities in line with targets, proactively
Ensuring that any disposal of maintenance activity generated wastes, including chemicals and oils, is carried out to site policies and procedures
Being involved in and support continuous improvement activities
Your skills and qualifications:
Time Served Apprenticeship via an approved body or organisation
To have experience in fault finding on electrical control systems
BS7671 Electrical Wiring Regulations and C&G Inspection and Testing
To ideally have knowledge of equipment certified for potentially explosive atmospheres (CompEx modules 1-6 preferred)
ONC or equivalent in electrical engineering and/or control systems discipline
Familiarity with interrogating PLC systems
Knowledge of pneumatic/hydraulic systems
To have experience on computerised maintenance management systems (ideally SAP)
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of electrical safety systems and permit systems

You will be proactive, with excellent communication skills. This will allow you to engage with stakeholders at all levels across the business, allowing you to also engage with sub-contractors too, helping to support the site from an electrical point of view.
Salary: £30,600 (with a potential for shift allowance)
