Senior QC Inspector

Would you like to play a key role within Supplier Assurance, feeding directly into Safety, Quality and Assurance, supporting the Astute and Successor programmes? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior QC Inspector at our site in Barrow-in-Furness.

As a Senior QC Inspector, you will be tasked with performing Quality Inspections to BAE requirements, audit and document receipt of procured parts within the business. This involves understanding the Quality requirements, the schedule and priorities and assuring the provision of an inspection service in line with the above. This will help to ensure high quality records are produced.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work within an area that has been subject to a number of historical issues and major improvements have been made to stabilise, however there are still many opportunities to drive further improvements and add real value to the business and the customer. The diversity of the role and stakeholders you engage with make this a challenging and interesting role.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior QC Inspector will involve:

Taking accountability for Quality Inspections, Audits, Quality Inspection requirements and document release of procured parts at the Barrow Site

Carrying out Inspections and documenting findings, through SAP

Taking a proactive approach to working on own, as required

Deputising for the Team Leader, as required

Ensuring on time delivery of goods and records to support record milestones

Ensuring products delivered are right the first time to site, taking a zero-defect approach

Liaising with a range of stakeholders on a regular basis, across all levels (both internally & externally)

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

HNC level qualification held or relevant experience/qualification

Engineering, Quality or Manufacturing Background

Broad Understanding of Quality Inspection Techniques

Good IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

Full UK Driving licence

Previous QC Inspection experience

Desirable:

Problem solving and Root Cause Analysis

Knowledge of Business Systems (including SAP and Team centre)

Commercial awareness

Lean Techniques
