Senior Combat Systems Engineer - Maintenance

Would you like to be responsible for the Combat Systems maintenance requirements? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Combat Systems Engineer - Maintenance at our site in Scotstoun or Govan.

As a Senior Combat Systems Engineer - Maintenance, you will be is primarily responsible for ensuring that the Combat Systems maintenance requirements (as detailed in the UMMS database) are scheduled, conducted and recorded when complete.

This role will initially cover in-store maintenance activities then, at the appropriate time in the equipment programme, the in-build/on-ship tasks, ensuring that these are conducted by the appropriate authority.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Combat Systems Engineer - Maintenance will involve:

Coordinating the maintenance of the Combat System is conducted for our Type26 programme

Ensuring all maintenance is scheduled as required in support of the programme

Confirming maintenance is conducted by the responsible party

Ensuring appropriate evidence is provided to support maintenance activities

Agreeing concession of maintenance where it cannot be conducted with appropriate authority

Guaranteeing the ship care, protection and environmental requirements are maintained post installation equipment on ship

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential

  • Degree qualified in a STEM related subject or equivalent working experience
  • Experience of planning and undertaking maintenance within a ship environment
  • Prior experience of using scheduled maintenance system

Desirable

  • Experience of planning and undertaking maintenance within a Naval environment
  • Working knowledge of Unit Management Maintenance Systems
  • Naval combat maintenance experience
  • Experience in electronic and engineering background

You will have the ability to provide direction to a team of mixed and diverse staff including both qualified system specialists and blue-collar platform inspection and QC resources.
