Senior Engineer- Site Safety Case

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineer - Site Safety Case to join the expanding Nuclear Site Safety Case team in Barrow-in-Furness.

As a Senior Engineer - Site Safety Case, you will be undertaking numerical safety and reliability analyses on a wide range of systems, equipment and facilities in support of the on-going Barrow Nuclear Site Safety Justification process and providing guidance to more junior team members.

This role will provide you with the opportunity of working on a wide range of nuclear projects, directly influencing the construction of the nuclear plant. You will be able to develop your own technical and soft skills whilst working in a well-established team in an expanding business with secure forward work load. This is a development role, potentially moving to an S5 role with expanded responsibilities.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Engineer- Site Safety Case will involve:

Producing numerical safety risk analyses (PSA/QRA) in support of the Nuclear Site Safety Case

Conducting reliability assessments of complex engineering systems

Providing guidance to more junior team members undertaking numerical safety and reliability analyses

Liaising with other stakeholders to inform the production of safety analysis and the implementation of safety case requirements

Representing the Site Safety Case team in discussions with a range of stakeholders

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline (engineering or physical sciences)

Chartered engineer status or working towards

Practical experience of applying Fault Tree and Event Tree analysis techniques to complex systems and situations

Experience of producing technical reports under supervision

Desirable:

Reliability analyses of complex systems

Understanding of Human Error prediction
