MBDA Missile Systems - Deliver For A More Secure Tomorrow

A vacancy has arisen for a Product Assurance Engineer to join the Sea Venom Product Assurance team in support of a multi-national missile programme during the industrialisation and initial production phases.
This opportunity provides the chance to work within a dynamic team providing quality assurance on in-house and supplied items, with the aim of preventing / minimising product non-conformance, supporting smooth programme delivery, assuring reliable products and increasing Customer satisfaction.
The successful applicant will:
  • Review and maintain contractual quality documentation including the Project Quality Plan. Support the Project team in developing any project specific processes;
  • Define both the Product Assurance and Company Business procedures to be deployed within the project and ensure they are tailored accordingly to meet the project’s needs;
  • Handle Product Non Conformance. Facilitate implementation of Project non-conformance process. Support design and manufacturing defect investigations. Provide Non-Conformance data analysis and summary reports into engineering/senior management and customer reviews;
  • Ensure the application of PPAP and APQP processes across the project;
  • Identify risks and critical issues with mitigation solutions for both in house and sub-contracted industrialisation activities to reduce risk and increase customer satisfaction;
  • Ensure Product Life Cycle reviews are planned, carried out and actions managed appropriately;
  • Support Customer product acceptance including any facilitation of Customer fault reports for the project.
What are we’re looking for?
  • Minimum HNC/HND in Engineering or Quality Assurance
  • Practitioner of current QA problem solving and improvement methods (8D, RCA, DMAIC, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of the product lifecycle - specifically industrialisation and early production phases
  • Excellent communication & social skills – an ability to inspire change
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to run reports in Excel, use SAP QM system, and document management tools
  • Continuous improvement awareness and ability to use own initiative to deliver improvements
