An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior experienced Clinical Scientist or Chartered Engineer to join us as Head of Clinical Engineering services. You will lead the Medical Equipment Management Organisation, (MEMO), which includes Medical Illustration services, as well as providing specialist healthcare technology management advice to the Trust. MEMO provides a comprehensive range of medical equipment life cycle management activities, as well as maintaining and supporting specialist radiology and radiotherapy systems.  Additionally the team provides patient safety and governance roles and the operation of a number of capital equipment replacement programmes.

The applicant must have proven experience in delivery of advanced healthcare technology based clinical scientific and/or technical support services for a large teaching hospital, with a track record of delivering organisational wide strategy and innovative solutions.

You will lead the Clinical Engineering service and be instrumental in developing strategy, policy and procedures aligned with the Trust, local healthcare partners and the wider NHS strategy to ensure risks associated with the acquisition and use of healthcare technologies are minimised.

As a manager you will be responsible for around 60 staff, their well-being and professional development to ensure the workforce evolves to meet succession planning and service challenges.

The post holder will work alongside other group heads in Medical Physics and Bioengineering to ensure the integrated delivery of scientific and technical services across the Trust.
