As a Projects Director – MEP Infrastructure you will lead a team of Project managers and provide overall strategy and direction, for successful delivery of Mechanical & Electrical infrastructure projects. You will also be responsible for execution and implementation of UK defined programs/portfolios, for managing risk and for the effective management of resources.

 

Responsibilities People Management

  • Provides overall leadership, strategy, and direction across teams and ensures the team's growth is in alignment with business needs
  • Sets functional and development objectives for managers / team members

Partnership Management

  • Provides guidance to the team on maintaining relationships with partners, when required
  • Seeks opportunities to build effective relationships with various partners on behalf of the team
  • Encourages feedback and effectively manages expectations

Communications

  • Coordinates team who has multiple and broad communication responsibilities
  • Guides and mentors the team and others on finding a balance between effective communications whilst pragmatic with volume, frequency and/or content

Risk Management

  • Is the highest level escalation point within the team for complex issues and may refer and raise issues outside of the immediate team
  • Challenges the team to ensure lateral thinking and information is fully analysed to achieve resolution

Project and Program Delivery

  • May advise multiple teams that are responsible for delivery of site customer & infrastructure projects
  • Delivers UK company wide strategic programs/portfolio on time, in budget and with required quality
  • Drives direction of strategy and ensures alignment to business needs

Resource Management

  • Partners with leadership to set KPIs and metrics
  • Accountable for resource planning management (people, finances, vendor bids, etc.) across the project teams

Project and Program Management frameworks

  • Influences, defines, and optimally communicates project management methodology and its application to customer solutions, customer orders, capital / infrastructure projects and UK company programs

What we are looking for: Experience and Skills

  • Extensive Program Management background (certification preferred)
  • Experience with multiple mission critical MEP Customer Projects (Cage & Strategic/GAM Customers) and Infrastructure Projects (Cyclical Replacement / Upgrade) less than $10Mil (UPS, Chiller, CRAC, Cabling backbone, etc.)
  • Extensive team management experience, preferably with project teams, within a matrix type of organisation
  • Ability to derive team’s roadmap, activity, and priorities out of numerous partners’ expectations / needs
  • Experience with Vendor Cost Management & Costing Support to Sales e.g. Cabs, Cage build, Security, Cabling infrastructure, and custom requirement(s), excluding Facility R&M & Utilities cost
  • Presentation, analytical and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships
  • Knows how to organise resources to efficiently handle concurrent requests from an array of customers (internal and external)
