Salary range: £67,258 - £84,005 per annum.

Due to an upcoming retirement, we are seeking an experienced chartered civil engineer to lead our civil engineering department. Reporting to the Director of Marine Operations, this role will lead the delivery of land and marine construction and building maintenance projects as well as overseeing the facilities and physical security aspects of our main offices and operational centres located throughout the tidal Thames and its estuary. This will include design and maintenance of a wide range of structures from radar towers in the outer estuary to lighthouses, causeways and jetties on the middle reaches to revetments and a Grade 2 listed lock and weir upriver at Richmond. 

The successful candidate will be a chartered civil engineer and have a recognised project management qualification, PRINCE 2 or similar and considerable experience of delivering marine/estuarial infrastructure projects as well as land-based building knowledge.

You will be able to demonstrate a high level of personal motivation and have the softer skills to motivate and develop a team of people from engineers to reception staff and work with third parties as well as part of the wider marine operations team.
