AWE are currently seeking Assistant Project Managers (APM) to help manage the delivery of low risk, low complexity construction, rekit, production, science and transition projects; under the control of a project manager or senior project manager, and in accordance with AWE processes. Some of these projects, may be delivered through framework contracts and major delivery partnerships. Typical project values at this grade, range from £10K to £500k.

The role will not only provide a great opportunity for the individual to be part of some unique and exciting projects, but also the chance to develop their skills and experience in one of the most complex, safety critical, and strategically important environments in the industry.

To qualify for the role, the successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the aptitude to develop project management skills and competencies (if not already held); the drive and determination to deliver excellence in all aspects of their work; and a great team spirit.

Key Accountabilities:

Deliver assigned tasks in accordance with requirements, operational constraints, scope, time, cost and quality.

Work with Project Managers to ensure alignment and integration with overarching projects and programmes.

Support change against the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB).

Support risk and opportunity identification and management.

Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player.

Other reasonable duties, aligned to your position, which the Company requires in line with business needs.

Key skills and experience required:

Relevant degree, engineering preferred, and evidence of project management awareness and knowledge.

The aptitude to learn to read, analyse and interpret charts, spreadsheets, schedules and (in some business areas) technical drawings.

Evidence of successfully leading cross-functional teams in a complex project environment

A clear and concise communication style (oral and written), with the ability to compile reports and present to peers and Senior Managers
