The PCB Layout team create bespoke PCB layouts, and Circuit Card Assembly’s (CCA’s), for a range of MBDA products. This design role will be based in the Datalink Centre of Excellence focusing on RF layouts. The role will span all types of layout from simple boards to complex multilayer boards as well as component placement and drawing creation. This role involves providing PCB Design Layouts derived from a range of RF/Electronic and Mechanical requirements. The PCB Layout Designer will provide suitable component placements, and routing, for review in accordance with customer requirements and MBDA design rules. Fabrication and assembly manufacturing data packs are then produced to company standards. It requires close collaboration with all stakeholders from conception through to delivery to meet agreed timelines and deliverables. Although predominately RF focused there will be non-RF layout activities, with the main team, the ratio of this will vary.
This is a PCB Design Layout role and does not include RF/Electronic Schematic design.
Businesses must continuously improve and MBDA is no exception. Identification and implementation of improvement activities, as well as personal development, will be part of the role. The activities of the role could span the international boundary and encompass our French colleagues to harmonise processes and shared CAD library. What’s great about the team?
The PCB Layout team is a dynamic and focussed team specialising in all aspects of PCB Layout and CCA design. This position will be a deployed resource into a Centre of Excellence with support from the main team, which is located together in one location, providing an atmosphere of supportive cooperation and interdependence that binds the team together to face the challenges of the future. The team ethic/atmosphere is mirrored in the Centre of Excellence and there will be regular deployment back to the main team to share and improve shared skills. The technical challenges are stimulating and provide continuous technical progression for those wishing to excel in their careers.
