AWE is currently recruiting for a Reliability / Systems Engineer to join our team, providing dependability (Availability, Reliability, Maintainability and Safety) support to technically challenging projects.
Location: Reading / Basingstoke area

In the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) era, AWE relies on cutting-edge science and computational methodologies to verify the safety and effectiveness of the warhead stockpile, without conducting live testing.
This role will require you to work within a rigorous assurance framework and the key responsibilities will be:
Producing high quality technical reports and presentations
Undertake analysis, modelling and simulation to provide estimations, allocations and predictions
Development of credible strategies and plans to deliver project deliverables to time, cost and quality requirements
Engagement with Subject Matter Experts and other stakeholders, providing specialist Dependability support as necessary
To develop expertise in Dependability engineering and where appropriate, provide support and mentoring to less experienced engineers
Candidates are required to have:
A degree qualification in engineering (or an HND in engineering supported by extensive practical experience) or technical (e.g. science) equivalent
A proactive and self-motivated attitude
A strong willingness to learn - developing Dependability specialist knowledge and engineering professionalism
Good interpersonal skills: able to engage and communicate well with a broad range of stakeholders
Demonstrable ability to generate and present technical documents to a high standard
Experience of some of the following would also be desirable:
Working knowledge of Dependability tools and techniques e.g. Failure Modes and effects Analysis (FMEA)
Awareness of Systems Engineering principles, techniques and management tools
Providing dependability expertise to complex systems or projects
Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques
Assessing failure modes and implementing mitigations and reliability growth (FEMA) and or Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
Awareness of working within a rigorous assurance framework
Familiarity with relevant Defence Standards and British Standards
Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
