AWE is currently recruiting for a Principal Seismic Engineer

The Principal Seismic Engineer will be a focal point for advice, information and expertise about policy, best practice, engineering knowledge and standards relating to seismic substantiation of structures, systems & components.

Location - Reading/Basingstoke area

Package - Salary £55,450 - £85,000 (dependent on knowledge and experience)

A salary sacrifice scheme is also available. We will consider candidates looking for full time or part time hours.

This role will involve reviewing seismic substantiation of structures, systems and components for compliance against AWE guides and standards and UK and US design codes (e.g. Structural Eurocodes, ACI 349, ASCE 4, ASCE 43, etc.).

Candidates will be expected to have a broad knowledge of ground motion, soil-structure interaction, response of structures, plant and equipment to seismic actions.

In addition to the above, candidate will be expected to have a degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience. Nuclear experience, whist desirable, is not essential.

This is an excellent opportunity to be the subject matter expert in seismic design and assessment at AWE and apply your expertise in support of our important role in keeping the nation safe.

Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
