The Engineering Design Capabilities Team is responsible for providing comprehensive business user support in a wide range of Design IT systems and capabilities across the engineering communities. The team acts as the focal point and represents the user base in the uptake and the future evolutions of the company’s new Collaborative PLM and CAD toolsets.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team to be responsible for the content definition and database management of the Electronic CAD Library. You will undertake a full range of ECAD Librarian activities, in line with company processes and industry standards to provide support to the Electronics Design and Manufacturing Teams.

You will take ownership for the creation of electronic component Symbols, Parts and Package Footprints which are consumed by an international team of Design Engineers.
The Electronics CAD Part Library is centralised and there is a requirement for international synchronisation so the ability to work closely with an international team is vital.

What we’re looking for
  • Knowledge of ECAD board library parts including logic symbols, footprints and logical to physical pin mappings
  • Ability to understand Component Data Sheets and characteristics
  • Understanding of fundamental Electronic and Mechanical Design principles
  • Attention to detail with the confidence and ability to discuss and explain the intricacies of electronics components and the reasons for their recommendation
  • Ideally, to have experience of using one or more PCB design tools.
  • Desirable, but not essential, to have experience of the development and maintenance of a CAD library.
