AWE is currently recruiting for a Machine Tools Engineer to deliver professional engineering services to enable the Principal Asset Engineer in fulfilment of the strategy for the upkeep of all assets and equipment AWE needs in order to deliver the Programme.
Location - Reading area
Package - £34,000 - c£48,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

You will be responsible for performing a variety of Machine Tool lifecycle activities from assistance with installation, breakdown, maintenance, servicing and error mapping in order to optimise plant and equipment availability. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in Machine Tool design on challenging bespoke projects across a range of facilities. This will require a focussed and consistent approach working with and directing Capital projects, where the Machinery Directive and associated standards and legislative requirements will be applied in full.
To be considered for this role, you'll need the following:
- An HNC/HND, or equivalent, with suitable additional experience
- Strong machine tools experience
- Electrical & Mechanical engineering experience
- Experience of delivering facilities engineering and maintenance services across the life of an asset
- The ability to deliver engineering across an equivalent manufacturing and/or research environment comprising a range of infrastructure facilities and associated manufacturing and/or research plant and equipment
Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
