Location: Reading/ Basingstoke area

Working within our Engineering Compliance team, we are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Electrical Safety Manager to undertake lead role within the company for advice, information and expertise about policy, best practice and engineering knowledge in electrical safety.

This role will take AWE forward to become an industry leader in electrical safety; it provides a unique opportunity to lead electrical safety within a complex organisation utilising some of the most advanced research and production facilities in the world. The Senior Electrical Safety Manager role is equivalent to the JSP 375 Senior Authorising Authority/Engineer role.

As the Senior Electrical Safety Manager, you will be required to:

• Provide a focal point for advice, information and expertise on policy, best practice and electrical safety engineering knowledge

• Apply your skills on a wide array of unique electrical technologies that only exist at AWE

• Review, Maintain and Improve an organisation of competent persons who will be responsible for application of the electrical safety code across the company

• Monitor AWE's compliance with electrical legislation, standards and relevant good practice

• Provide an Intelligent Customer interface with AWE's Regulators at a corporate level

• Build and maintain communications with other organisations to share best practice and improve.

• Help to shape AWE's future as a world class company

Ideal attributes for this role include:

• Experience in development, implementation or application of electrical safety policy

• Experience in electrical safety throughout the asset lifecycle (design to decommissioning)

• Experience of working within a regulated industry

• Experience as an Authorising Engineer (JSP 375), or equivalent

• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status or working towards professional recognition

• Level 4 qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent technical experience

• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations BS7671-2008 (C&G 2382)

• Electrical Inspection and Testing (C&G 2391)

• NEBOSH General Certificate or recognised Health & Safety qualification
