MBDA Missile Systems - Deliver For A More Secure Tomorrow

An opportunity has arisen for a Product Assurance Engineer to join the team and provide professional quality support to the Manufacturing team in the UK.

Our team provides an independent visibility and assurance that manufacturing and related processes are applied across all projects. We provide support and advice on all aspects of quality within UK Manufacturing. We also provide support in the identification and implementation of sustainable process improvements to existing methods and processes. This role will support UK Manufacturing to identify and reduce project risk or issues associated with process application, process effectiveness or compliance.
We apply quality expertise to critical business issues to support business excellence, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

We assist Manufacturing UK to ensure manufacturing excellence including development and delivery of quality awareness and other process and quality-related training. This ensures all programmes achieve cost, time and quality targets.

We run a programme of Independent assessments and audits that processes and quality requirements are being successfully implemented, applied and improved. We deliver reports to Management that identifies the outcome of audits and issues; monitoring and facilitating the progression of any improvements from audit activities and the timely closure of identified issues.

The product assurance team provide advice and help in the use of SAP as the non-conformance management tool and identify SAP improvement with respect to the Quality Module.
Part of the role involves analysis of non-conformance defect data and acting on this data to undertake problem solving investigations identifying defect root cause and corrective action implementation.

What we’re looking for
  • Ideally qualified to minimum HNC/HND in relevant subject.
  • Quality professional, experienced in process-based integrated management systems & business improvement in an engineering / manufacturing environment. Experience using both risk management and practical problem solving tools e.g. 8D, 5Y, PFMEA etc.
  • Quality Auditing experience required
  • In depth knowledge and experience of EN9100/AS9100
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good planning and organising skills to ensure multiple tasks are prioritised and monitored to deliver set objectives
  • Capability to identify sustainable business improvements & ensure effective implementation
  • Recognise and understand internal & external customer and regulatory & certification requirements, and respond to them
