Job Details
We are looking for an Applications Engineer to join our Test Services team – who is able to provide technical support and advice to colleagues and our customers worldwide, whilst assisting with technical projects worldwide.
Responsibilities include;
- Applications Engineer for HV/MV systems, with a specific focus on Rotating Machines
- Providing applied engineering and technical support/advice for worldwide customers and colleagues
- Assisting with management of the Test Services team including execution of site projects
- Interpreting specifications and customer’s technical requirements/enquiries
- Executing and leading unconventional and challenging monitoring and test projects
- Managing monitoring projects post-commissioning (driving internal and external actions to ensure correct function of the system and positive client experience, performing data analysis, managing/ writing technical reports)
- Acting as an HVPD ambassador to trade organisations/conferences (i.e. PCIC, IEEE, CIGRE, etc.) by writing and presenting technical papers, case studies, demonstrating equipment and involvement in associated committees
Training – Full training on our products and services will be provided.
Full product training will be provided. The role may require international travel for meetings, exhibitions and conferences.
Requirements
- Knowledgeable in the area of High Voltage and specifically Insulation Engineering and/or Partial Discharge
- Degree qualified and/or extensive industry-specific experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with electrical and electronic equipment
- Good computer skills, including documentation and report writing
- Excellent organisation and problem solving skills with the ability to prioritise and plan effectively
- Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT
- Desirable – Rotating Machines and transformers applications experience including MV/HV insulation design
- Desirable – Experience of working in a range of sectors (e.g. Oil & Gas, Transmission, Distribution, Generation, Shipping, Renewables, Marine)
