WHAT TO EXPECT

As an STA New Model Launch Engineer you will have the responsibility for delivery of the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) through the application of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) for selected components as agreed with the Programme team as well as the responsibility for identified PPAP Level 3 / 5 components. The role will require frequent travel to supplier facilities in the UK, Europe and Worldwide as required.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Through active membership of Commodity Teams, represent STA in supplier new part development and introduction to support delivery of excellent quality and on time launch of JLR vehicle projects. You will maintain productive relationships with internal stakeholder and suppliers' representatives to ensure PSW Quality and delivery targets are met and all supplier manufacturing process related issues are resolved in a timely manner. You will collaborate with buyers and Product Engineers to maximise Supplier Technical Assistance influence and ensure alignment with JLR processes and policy

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

As an STA New Model Launch Engineer, you will have had previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment and a proven track record in Quality Management in a manufacturing or technical environment. You will have excellent stakeholder management and relationship management skills and experience and should be able to effectively manage and execute complex projects on time. Having excellent communication skills with the ability to converse at all levels of the organisation and with external suppliers/customers is highly important.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience

* Strong complex problem solving skills
* Experience in approving or leading PSW or PPAP
* Experience in leading supplier audit / supplier assessment activities
* Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
* Engineering background (Process, Quality, Mechanical, Electrical) is desirable
* A determined individual, self-driven, committed and results-orientated who works with pace, energy and confidence
