AWE is currently recruiting for a Principal Systems Engineer to join our team, providing Dependability (Availability, Reliability, Maintainability and Safety) support to technically challenging projects.
Principal Systems Engineer (Dependability)
Location - Reading / Basingstoke area
Package - £55,450- £80,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

In the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) era, AWE relies on cutting-edge science and computational methodologies to verify the safety and effectiveness of the warhead stockpile, without conducting live testing.
This role will require you to work within a rigorous assurance framework and the key responsibilities will be:
To produce high quality technical reports and presentations
Undertake analysis, modelling and simulation to provide estimations, allocations and predictions
Development of credible strategies and plans to deliver project deliverables to time, cost and quality requirements
To engage with Subject Matter Experts and other stakeholders, providing specialist Dependability support as necessary
To develop your expertise in Dependability engineering and where appropriate, provide support and mentoring to less experienced engineers
Whilst not considered a check list, we will be looking for candidates to be able to demonstrate some of the following:
Systems Engineering knowledge and experience
Use of Reliability toolsets e.g. Failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA, FMECA)
Specialist experience of Dependability (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability) Engineering on complex systems or projects
Experience of in-service reliability assurance
Experience in product development but facilities experience may be relevant
Data analysis and technical report writing skills suitable for a range of audiences
Good interpersonal skills, able to engage and communicate well with a broad range of stakeholders
Awareness of Dependability / Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) strategies and plans and cases
Ability to understand technical specifications and requirements, compliance, verification
Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
