Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) is a collaboration of the five South East police forces, and works with the UK Intelligence community to help protect the public and our national security.

To support this important work, CTPSE are setting up an ICT Team who will be involved in a range of technical tasks ranging from first-line user assistance to the discovery and development of new bespoke specialist solutions for trailblazing technologies in policing.  We are pleased to advertise the opportunity to form part of this new and exciting team.

The ICT Specialist Engineer role is to provide specialist advice and support to specific technical servers, data storage, infrastructure platforms and associated user workstations in support of specialist technical teams across will act as the CTPSE ICT point of contact for national and regional projects and programmes.  This role will be key to ensuring that CTP has the technical infrastructure in place that it needs to deliver the vital service that it provides to the communities within the South East and across the United Kingdom.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of IT operating infrastructures (including IP Networks) and ICT operations.  They will be a recognised practitioner in a number of technical server, storage and client delivery infrastructure technologies and will have experience in planning, designing, building and delivering core infrastructure solutions using a variety of communications technologies.

It is essential that you have the flexibility to travel across the South East region as need arises, and therefore a UK driving licence is essential. Due to the role requirements, it is essential that the post holder be prepared to be security cleared to Developed Vetted (DV) level. Furthermore, due to the nature and sensitivity of work carried out we require that candidates not only hold this vetting level but that they also undertake additional security clearances which include additional nationality checks. This post is therefore restricted to UK is line with government requirements, supported by Cabinet Office policy and Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), and is for the purpose of safeguarding national security, to ensure that any potential vulnerabilities are identified at an early stage. This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home.
