Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Reading / Basingstoke Area
Salary: £33,850 - £50,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

The Mechanical Engineering Group are looking for a motivated and experienced Design Engineer to develop components and sub-systems for a wide range of products including but not limited to precision electro-mechanical assemblies, structural components and pressure vessels. The successful candidate will be working within a multi-disciplined team.
Responsibilities will include:
Contribute to the production and delivery of high-quality requirements, technical models, drawings, reports and presentations
Contribute to the delivery of the system from concept to realisation.
Maintaining and promote high standards in ESH (Environmental, safety & health), security and quality.
Applicants will need to have experience in mechanical engineering design and specifications with experience of using design tools such as CAD / CAE as well as product realisation and manufacturing techniques. Ideally previous experience of 3D solid modelling (Siemens NX), Teamcenter and the generation of manufacturing drawings, although further training will be provided if needed.
Whilst not to be considered a check list, candidates would also benefit from knowledge of ANY of the following:
High powered lasers
Product Lifecycle Management
System engineering
Regulatory requirements
Joining techniques - adhesives, welding, brazing
Finite Element Analysis
Product testing and commissioning
Materials selection
Tooling, jigs and fixtures
Human factors
To be considered for the role you would ideally have an HNC/HND or degree qualification in an engineering discipline or proven experience working in a similar environment and possess strong communication skills.
Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
