Authorising Engineer (Electrical)
Location - Reading / Basingstoke area
Package - £42,650 - £65,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

Working within our Engineering Safety Organisation, we are looking to appoint an experienced Authorising Engineer to act as the subject matter expert providing complex engineering input and judgement to a range of stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of technical engineering safety at AWE.
This role will give you the opportunity to apply your expertise to influence and contribute to the development of AWE's engineering safety policies and act as the intelligent customer to range of stakeholders across our facilities in busy production and research environments.
As Authorising Engineer your role will involve:
Setting, managing and assessing standards for competence of Authorised, Nominated and Instructed Person resources
Managing and reviewing legislative records pertaining to engineering safety in your discipline
Providing advice and help others to navigate the safe and effective implementation of engineering safety at AWE
Supporting optimisation of the delivery of Engineering Safety Organisation at AWE
Facilitating delivery of the operation of systems involving pulsed power, x-ray, lasers, vacuum and hardware/software interlock safety systems
Assessing and helping to mitigate engineering safety risks using your technical and legislative knowledge and experiences, in areas such as:
Electrical Wiring Regulations 18th Edition / BS7671
Electrical Quality, Continuity Safety Regulations
Electrical Installation Test and Inspection
We will be looking for candidates to have previous experience working in a highly regulated environment where you have led the delivery of engineering services across the life of an asset.
Generalist experience in commercial and industrial environments, and specialisms in various research environments also sought.

Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be willing and able to work in designated areas.
