The UK Astronomy Technology Centre is seeking an engineering manager with a good understanding of large, multi-disciplinary projects. As a new role within the facility, this is an exciting and diverse opportunity for an experienced manager to join us and make this role their own!

About this opportunity:

You will have hands-on experience of leading multi-discipline engineering projects across the engineering lifecycle, leading a diverse range of project partner needs and requirements to achieve the desired outcome and a good understanding of quality assurance.

Further responsibilities will include:

  • Supervise project performance by conducting regular reviews to ensure that the relevant processes and standards are met, as well as the suitability of the design.
  • Implement continuous improvement of procedures.
  • Line manage senior engineering staff.
  • Support operational delivery and efficiency for our projects in terms of end to end quality management in each engineering field.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Extensive experience in line management, ideally in an engineering environment.
  • Technical skills to ensure the delivered products are of high quality.
  • Drive and passion to build and maintain a quality culture within the organisation.
