Telent Technology Services are actively looking for a new addition to our Rail and Engineering team. We are seeking a driven Systems Engineer who has a passion for Control Centre and CCTV systems (installations, upgrades and maintenance).

We maintain operational-critical telecommunications systems that keep our nations stations open and trains running on time. With this major growth, the successful Systems Engineer will help develop and implement the changes required to keep our nation moving.

Systems Engineer role:

Working as a Systems Engineer, providing technical support for the installation, upgrade and maintenance of CCTV systems and associated control centre and network elements

Working across CCTV systems in the Public Space or Rail sectors with the ability to design both simple and complex CCTV systems, covering various manufacturers / vendors to meet the customers specifications

Supporting the Business Development Managers when providing quotations and responding to tenders.

Knowledge of Network Rail or London Underground / Public space CCTV systems would also be a benefit, to design systems in aid of upgrades and maintenance projects

Systems Engineer responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support / SME services for the installation of bespoke CCTV systems including core Video Management Systems
  • Support the upgrade or expansion of CCTV systems including the following (but not limited to):
  • Synectics
  • Meyertech
  • Avigilon
  • Indigo Vision
  • Milestone
  • Genetec
  • Cognyte (Verint)
  • Axis
  • Bosch
  • Hikvision 
  • Possess knowledge to technically support in ANPR deployments and solutioning, including moving traffic enforcement
  • Installation of CCTV video walls
  • Supporting network designs including networking and wireless solutions including:
  • Ubiquity
  • SilverNet
  • Siklu
  • Infinet Wireless and Microwaves
  • Providing technical support to the maintenance and project engineering teams
  • Supporting system upgrades
  • Support the business development manager with tender responses
  • Produce project designs including design and test documentation
  • Effective communicator (both written and verbal)

Essential / desirable skills and qualifications required:

  • Degree or HNC in Engineering related subject (desirable)
  • Strong experience in CCTV systems design
  • Extensive Security CCTV (Analogue and IP) knowledge
  • Network design or support
  • Good OpenSpace CCTV systems knowledge
  • Network Rail or London Underground knowledge / Experience (Desirable)
  • Radio design experience ​​​​​​​
