Engineering Manager - Waste & Decommissioning

Location: Reading / Basingstoke Area

Package - £42,650 - £65,000 (dependent on experience)

Our Engineering Managers are the focal point within our Engineering organisation supporting our existing and new high hazard facilities and operations.

Working with Supply Chain partners you will act as Intelligent Client and be responsible for:

  • Assessment of Requirements to ensure design solutions meet business need, functional and through life performance and are both licensable and deliverable

  • Engineering input to project tender process, budget and schedule

  • Competency assessment and maintenance of records

  • Management of Safety Led Design development

  • Ensuring Design Intent and Configuration are maintained across the project lifecycle

  • Leading Design Reviews.

Able to work across disciplines to maintain a live facility Safety Case, you will also be involved in managing the production of engineering design substantiation to demonstrate assets (facilities, infrastructure, plant and equipment) are safe to operate and compliant with legislation and Nuclear Licence Conditions.

To be successful in this role, we will be looking for you to have some of the following knowledge and experience:

  • Experience of working in a highly regulated environment with responsibility for ensuring the quality and timely delivery of engineering design and substantiation to underpin continuous safe operations

  • Experience of working in a multi-discipline environment with responsibility for the guardianship of high integrity assets

  • Experience of articulating technical complexities, able to direct work and team to meet the programme

  • Knowledge and application of legislation and standards relating to safety within engineering e.g. HSAWA, CDM.

Ideally, candidates will be professionally registered (Incorporated or equivalent with equivalent academic qualifications (HNC/HND)).

All candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be willing and able to work in designated areas.
