AWE are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join the Warhead Engineering Team in support of AWE Programmes. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Craft Engineer looking to further their career in design engineering or a recent graduate who is looking to apply their degree with a company that offers superb training and development opportunities.

Location - Reading / Basingstoke Area
Salary: £26,500 - £35,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

Within this role you will have the opportunity to:
Under supervision, contribute to the delivery of conceptual designs, detail designs, manufacturing specifications, operational documentation and validation evidence for mechanical engineering solutions in relation to defined requirements
Contribute to the production of high-quality reports and presentations
Work alongside Senior Engineers in scoping, planning, and estimating future activities
Apply the practical use of engineering methods, tools and processes
To be considered for the role, you must have either:
Completed a recognised apprenticeship scheme or an equivalent vocational qualification in a STEM discipline supported by practical experience
Have an HNC / HND or higher qualification in an engineering discipline
Proven experience working in a similar environment
Experience and knowledge, either through application and/or design and production of engineering drawing packs using BS 8888 is also required, alongside a knowledge of machines, tools and manufacturing processes with strong communication skills.
Ideally you will have demonstrable experience of working on designs and or post design services through product lifecycle using model-based engineering applications and engineering tools, such as Computer Aided Design Packages (NX) and Teamcenter and have the aptitude to use similar applications.
All Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
