A permanent opportunity has arisen for the post of Estates Manager – Electrical Lead, in this role you will assist the Senior Estates Manager to meet the High Voltage and Low Voltage electrical requirements across NHS Tayside.

Managing an all-encompassing Electrical maintenance service for NHS Tayside you will be responsible for maintenance and repair on all Electrical, Plant and Equipment across NHS Tayside. Including ensuring all is in a satisfactory, operational condition through the provision of a cost-effective maintenance programme to agreed quality, statutory, statutory, safety and environmental performance standards.

This role includes reporting on operational incidents, conducting investigations and formal report writing. Successful candidate will also be expected to manage schemes funded by the Estates Investment Programme (EAMS) from inception to completion.

You must drive service compliance within agreed Statutory, Mandatory, Safety, Environmental, Quality Standards, Policies and Procedures whilst devising and managing the necessary procedures to ensure that the Electrical infrastructure within NHS Tayside is maintained. Delivering the highest standard for safe environments for Patients, Staff and Visitors.

Applicants should be qualified to a Degree level and should have a working knowledge of SHTM’s , ACoP’s and other relevant legislation is essential. Previous management experience in Estates including Building & Engineering Services, Equipment & Plant is required. It is also essential to hold Engineering Council Registration as a Professional Engineer and be trained as an authorized person for -

  • SHTM 06-02 Electrical Safety Guidance for low voltage systems
  • SHTM 06-03 Electrical Safety Guidance for high voltage systems

The Post holder will be required to work at any NHS Tayside property as necessary, therefore the ability to travel is essential.

You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
