Job Purpose:
This is a key role in the delivery of the AWE mission and programme. You will provide deputy leadership of a Technology Centre (TC) to deliver Operations in a compliant, safe, secure, and cost-effective manner. The role is key in shaping the transformation of the TC to ensure continued evolution of AWE management team, delivery of process improvements, and transition of new capabilities.
As a Deputy Head of TC we will be looking for you to play a pivotal role in driving cultural change and have a commitment to operational excellence to continuously improve manufacturing and business performance.

You will need gravitas and resilience to engage with and influence those at the most senior levels to deliver our mission.
In addition to the above, we will also be looking for candidates to have:
Strong business and commercial acumen
Proven negotiating and influencing skills with the ability to convince through personal credibility
An ability to act as an ambassador for AWE demonstrating excellent interpersonal, engagement and presentation skills
A track record in a leadership position within a relevant regulated/quality focussed manufacturing environment
An ability to provide inspirational leadership to a team with diverse skills and experience and build a high performing team
Have experience operating confidently at a strategic level and to assimilate and analyse information quickly in order to assess and debate complex issues at the highest level
Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the security clearance required for the role and be willing and able to travel within the UK and overseas as required once restrictions are lifted.
