Victrex is seeking a Manager Polymer Plants to be based at Hillhouse, Lancashire. This role will define, implement, and manage the manufacturing strategy for the 3 polymer plants, delivering operational excellence in all aspects of safety, quality, productivity, cost and people management. You will be responsible for the total output from the 3 plants onsite and c.70 staff.  The site has benefited from significant investment in its assets over recent years.

Reporting to the Global Manufacturing Director you will bring extensive experience of leadership within an industrial/ chemical environment with the ability to shape and implement the manufacturing strategy. Victrex has set itself a challenging manufacturing improvement programme so ideally you’ll bring significant experience in successfully delivering step change improvements in manufacturing environments in order to support delivering Victrex’s ambitious growth strategy.

We would love to hear from candidates with:

  • Demonstrated Safety leadership experience
  • Demonstrable experience of defining and delivering manufacturing strategies within an industrial/chemical environment
  • Expert working knowledge of safe systems of work and statutory legislation in a hazardous process environment
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully leading large manufacturing teams in highly automated, regulated and/or hazardous environments, especially through transformational change
  • Extensive working knowledge of plant and/or thermoplastic manufacturing processes
  • Track record in delivering productivity applying operational Excellence practices and Lean Six Sigma
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully managing operating budgets for relevant types and sizes of manufacturing facilities
  • Degree in Engineering or Scientific discipline or equivalent experience.
