Software Architect - Assisted and Automated Driving

WHAT TO EXPECT

This role is for a Software Architect within the Software Group in Assisted and Automated Driving, this is a critical for delivering AAD technologies across multiple present and future Model Years. Focus is within the teams that that develops and maintains all software for ADAS following engineering tasks and deliverables for multiple systems and subsystems for the application of the software onto the defined programmes.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
* Design of the Software and Functions related to AAD Design and Architecture
* Software Design - the specification and design of systems and their components to meet defined needs, retaining compatibility with software architectures.
* The development and communication of structural frameworks (hardware, software and other components) and the interrelationships between these components.
* Quality and robustness engineering: theoretical and applied knowledge in reliability, availability, robustness, resilience, failure mode avoidance, noise factors analysis
* SW Functional Safety


WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Essential:
* Software Design - the specification and design of systems and their components to meet defined needs, retaining compatibility with software architectures.
* The design, creation, testing and documenting of new and amended programs from supplied specifications in accordance with agreed standards.
* Diagnostics
* Failure mode analysis and prevention
* RAMS (Reliability Availability Serviceability Safety)
* Good relevant experience of working in a Commodity Delivery and Software Engineering environment - ideally within the Automotive Sector
* Model Based Language expertise (SysML)
* Relevant experience of system definition, system architecture development, requirements specification, design/performance modelling, systems integration, system assessment and acceptance
* Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred

Desirable:
* Multiple Software Language skills (C, C+, Python, Java, etc)
* Experience in Automotive Engineering Delivery and in solving complex technical issues using a structured approach
* Experience in IBM Rational RTC and IBM Rational Rhapsody toolsets for requirements and issue tracking
* Experience in IBM Rational DOORS
