Location: Reading /Basingstoke area

Salary: £42,650 - £65,000 (dependent on skills and experience) + Allowance

Working in a highly regulated environment, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manufacturing Engineering Engineer to join our Joining Team in support of all current and future Warhead programmes. The successful candidate will integrate with a team of welding specialists to establish joining techniques across all areas of the business.

Key accountabilities & responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering Joining programmes to meet project and process area objectives in terms of safety, cost, timing, legislation and quality whilst coaching and developing more junior Joining Specialists to meet current and future objectives

  • Act as subject matter expert approver for tooling/equipment/process configuration documentation

  • Liaise with key stakeholders, project teams and management, ensuring appropriate communication of project/programme status

  • Adopt a 'See It, Own It, Solve It' mind-set, by identifying obstacles to success and taking ownership to find solutions to those problems

  • Provide a diverse and inclusive working environment that allows individuals to flourish and realise their potential

  • Work with others to form high performing teams

Candidates will need a comprehensive knowledge of Joining techniques with a broad understanding of mechanical engineering. Whilst NOT considered a checklist, knowledge and/or experience of some of the following would be beneficial:

  • Manufacturing processes

  • Metallurgy

  • Material properties

  • Design of components

  • Tool design and manufacture

  • Process knowledge of special material manufacture

  • Manufacturing system documentation generation

  • Project Management

  • Facility Documentation

  • Complex problem resolution techniques

  • Use of Quality Tools and their application

  • Operational Excellence principles

Candidates should have a minimum HNC in either Welding & Joining, Metallurgy, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or possess appropriate experience within a relevant field.

Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be willing and able to work in designated areas.
