MBDA Missile Systems - Deliver for a more secure tomorrow

An opportunity has arisen for an individual to lead a capable and dynamic team of 9 Environmental, Trials and Analysis engineers working across a number of critical MBDA projects. The Team works within the Environmental Engineering & Facilities (EE&F) Mechanical & Climatic Projects Department and delivers all Trials & Analysis aspects of Environmental Engineering tasks across all MBDA Programmes.

The Trials and Analysis Lead will be responsible for leading the delivery of projects and managing the development and performance of our people and your team.

The RoleTo lead the MBDA EE&F UK Environmental Trials & Analysis Team, applying specialist technical knowledge and providing advice to projects, with responsibility for delivery of all aspects of Trials & Analysis activities.
  • Engage with primary partners, such as Integration Leads or Heads of Platform, Chief Systems Proving Engineers (CSPEs) and Integration & Systems Validation (ISV), across the company, to identify forthcoming campaigns and programmes of work, to scope activities, compile task package estimates and develop Statements of Work in support of bids.
  • Plan, manage and lead the delivery of Trials & Analysis work packages including data gathering trials and assessments, ensuring delivery to the required quality, timescale and budget.
  • Lead the development of test specifications and ensure that activities related to vibration, shock and signal analysis are carried out in line with specifications and all technical and quality standards.
  • Deliver, through the team, a full range of technical analyses and investigations, including evaluation and selection of technical options, and prepare reports with suggested recommendations to support the resolution of problems and the improvement of engineering capability.
  • Conduct day to day management and leadership for the Trials & Analysis Team and be an active participant in functional improvement projects

  • A leader who can inspire people within your team, wider department, function and external partners in order to meet business delivery across a number of projects.
  • Strength of character to uphold environmental engineering standards both within the function and across the business with the ability to challenge and endorse the technical content of documents issued by the Environmental Trials and Analysis team
  • Proven Project Management ability to ensure multiple Projects are delivered to time and budget and with the appropriate quality and standards of safety
  • A strong technical background in Environmental Analysis/ Trials or Mechanical Engineering, with experience of conducting trials in the air/land/naval domains.
  • A robust understanding of advanced digital signal processing principles and the application to environmental data
  • The humility & Strength of character to be both the leader of your team and an active member of the management team
