Business Resource Manager

Fundamental to the success of any improvement activity is the ability to measure business performance. Missile Design UK is looking for a Business Resource Manager who will own the operational metrics of the business.

The role will be a great opportunity to experience the functional side of MBDA, away from projects, and to get wider visibility of the business. This is a high profile role and you will work closely with a number of internal partners including Finance, ISP and IRAD, as well as building strong relationships with a number of external Offload providers.

You will report to the Missile Design UK Function Support who is responsible for creating a coherent capability programme for the division and will be responsible for:

• Support to the Division Head and functional managers in understanding the true resource needs for the Division and constituent functions:
• Analysis and influence over the annual Workload Forecast
• Derivation and maintenance of the Division/Function workload forecast (the bottom-up view)
• Conduct due diligence on offload activity within the division
• Managing the IRAD spend of the division
• Supporting the creation of functional finance budgets and monitoring spend
• Working with function heads to agree meaningful milestones and tracking progress throughout the year
• Monitoring of vacancies including tracking of CV numbers
• Monitoring critical vacancies
• Main point of contact for MDUK with Engineering-wide activities concerning offload

You will have good people skills as well as being someone who can work well with significant amounts of data, finding creative ways to organise it to deliver effective key messages across the MDUK functions.
What were looking for

• This is a role that would be equally suited to someone with an engineering background looking to expand their knowledge of the business, or someone with a business background looking to develop their knowledge of our engineering activities
• Advanced knowledge of Excel essential
• You must be comfortable working in a high profile role and attending meetings with Engineering senior management
• You must be organised and capable of working to deadlines
• Must be capable of negotiating and influencing senior management
• You must be adaptable & flexible in order to meet the constantly evolving priorities across the business
