We are currently recruiting for a Senior Measurement Scientist to lead the design, characterisation, procurement, installation, commissioning and in-service support of radiological instrumentation across our Sites.

Location: Reading / Basingstoke Area
Salary: £41,950 - £65,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience) + Allowance

Within Radiological instrumentation the team use electronic engineering, embedded systems and detector physics knowledge to design novel radiation detection and measurement equipment to meet regulatory need. We tackle a range of projects from low TRL investigations and prototypes through to production ready designs that are licenced to external manufacturers for production. We also use our skills to perform evaluations of new equipment and provide solutions for in service equipment problems.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
Task Management of apprentices and less experience staff; ensuring their safety and competence is upheld
Ensure the technical and financial success of large radiological instrumentation projects
Delivery of complex products and architectures to Customers at agreed costs
Issue of technical documentation for large instrumentation projects/service delivery
Timely delivery of radiological products to customers at agreed cost
Design, build and test complex products and architectures which meet project deliverables
Seek and identify new instrumentation/equipment with the potential to improve company plant and processes
Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player
Additional accountabilities for this job profile may be defined and appointed through the Chief Engineer Management Arrangements, with appointees listed within the Company Design Authorities and Technical Authorities, as held in the company management system
To be considered for these roles, we will be looking for candidates to demonstrate:
Qualifications to minimum HND (preferably Degree or Chartered) or equivalent level of knowledge in electronics, engineering or physics discipline
Strong stakeholder communication skills
An ability to draw schematics and printed circuit board layouts
Experience participating in projects at all stages of development
Ability perform structured statistical analysis of complex data
Previous supervisory experience
Experience working in a design, development and metrology environment
Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be willing and able to work in designated areas.
