Senior Joining Specialist/Engineer
Location: Reading /Basingstoke area
Salary: £42,650 - £65,000 (dependent on skills and experience) + Allowance

Working in a highly regulated environment, this role will complement our Joining Development and Manufacturing team in support of all current and future Warhead programmes. The successful candidate will integrate with a team of welding specialists to establish joining techniques across all areas of the business.
Key accountabilities & responsibilities will include:
Creation of welding procedures and technical instructions and technical review of procedures
Act as subject matter expert on Power Beam Welding to produce high quality joints on critical components
Writing weld procedures, performing detailed tests, analysing the quality of welds and preparing Customer reports
Be responsible for providing practical support to welding development projects and support shop floor production
Liaise with key stakeholders, project teams and management, ensuring appropriate communication of project/programme status
Work with others to form high performing teams
Ideal candidates will have a comprehensive knowledge of Electron Beam and Laser Welding techniques together with general knowledge of other joining processes. Whilst NOT considered a checklist, knowledge and/or experience of some of the following would also be beneficial:
Joining processes
Metallurgy
Welding procedures
Material properties
Joint Design and preparations
Welding Fixture and Tool design
Health and Safety and Facility Documentation
Complex problem resolution techniques
Candidates should have a minimum HNC in either Welding & Joining, Metallurgy, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or possess appropriate experience within a relevant field.
Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be willing and able to work in designated areas.
