WHAT TO EXPECT
The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, testing and introduction of SVO Driveline Systems to support the SVO Cycle Plan, delivering on time to cost and quality targets. Driveline Systems include Transfer Cases, propshafts, halfshafts and drive units. The Lead Engineer will report into the SVO Transmissions, Driveline & EDU Manager.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
You will act as a Lead Engineer for Driveline Systems within SVO Propulsion Engineering, deliver SVO Driveline Systems to quality, cost and time, including maintaining the Worldwide Engineering Release System (WERS), and own and deliver the Engineering Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) deliverables. You will manage Change Request, expenditure forecasting and the relevant supplier teams in support of delivery of the programme milestones.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
The ideal candidate will have a passion for the automotive industry and the potential of SVO for JLR, strong project management capabilities with the ability to multitask, and be comfortable challenging cross-functionally and at a variety of levels within the business. They will also have a degree in relevant Mechanical engineering discipline.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Experience with Driveline system development (Transfer Cases and/or propshafts & halfshafts and/or drive units)
Experience of leading the resolution of business, technical and process issues within a Project Team environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong influencing and engagement skills
A good working knowledge of product creation & delivery, change control, product definition and change management processes
Previous experience with transmission development
