Security Implementation Engineer

A successful candidate for this role will work in Applied Intelligence’s Singapore Hub, with a focus on delivering and support complex systems to our customers.

The Role – Security Implementation Engineer:

Are you passionate about working with innovative technology and implement design securing the complex systems we built that are central to our customer’s missions?  We are looking for a Security Implementation Engineer with a strong focus on infrastructure and application security. You will be passionate in securing complex, mission critical systems following best practices in sensible ways unique to the customer’s environment.

You’ll be working towards ensuring that the solution meets its functional and non-functional security requirements, and the correct application of relevant technologies, processes and tool chains.  You will work closely with solution architects and customer, understand their requirements, define practical solutions to problems and hands-on collaboration with deployment engineers to deliver security-focused services and infrastructure across different projects.

Core Responsibilities:

• Be the face that represents security implementation, as Security SME advising customer and internal stakeholders, building trust with a customer focused approach. 
• Own and standardise the infrastructure and system security implementation roadmap for Singapore portfolio projects.
• Educate local engineering team in security best practices and influence product or solutions teams to accommodate customer drive security principles.
• Lead, from security perspective, the system consultants on security implementations e.g. GPO hardening, firewall best practices
• Tuning, configuring, troubleshooting of complex infrastructure during implementation phase-
• Support creation of Security focused System Acceptance documents
• Create high-quality technical documentation, for example Implementation Plans and Security  Reports
• Must adapt to working in high pressure environment and handle multiple priorities.

Required Experiences:

• A security-by-design mindset
• Experience in security compliance audits for large scale systems.
• Working experience in engineering of complex IT solutions covering applications and operational aspects
• Technical architecture skills to design solutions (build vs buy, COTS production assessment and selection, capacity and sizing)
• Providing engineering effort estimation for potential solution costs and delivery timescales
• Ability to analyze and understand existing security architecture and requirements
• Experience of interacting and presenting to both internal and external stakeholders to understand, influence and shape requirements and solution approaches
• Wide hands-on experience in security and infrastructure systems experience like IAM, encryption technologies, network security, Active Directory, Kerberos, SSO, log management, end-point protection tools, health monitoring, patching, and systems hardening.
• Strong ability in Microsoft Windows Servers or Linux administration preferably with Red-hat
• Strong hands-on experience in network devices like switches and Firewall e.g. Cisco, Fortinet
• Awareness of architecture and design using key technologies such as ELK, Kafka, Hadoop, Mesos, relational databases like MySQL
