AWE's Nuclear Threat Reduction (NTR) Division is currently recruiting for Electronics Engineers to join a small electronics research and development team. The hiring manager is willing to consider applications from individuals at different stages of their career.
Location - Reading area
Package - £24,550 - c£41,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

What will you be required to do?
You'll be part of a small R&D team who are undergoing rapid expansion, so there will be plenty of opportunities to learn and develop your electronic skills in design, test and manufacture of electronic based products. The team designs bespoke electrical products to meet emerging and changing customer needs for the Nuclear Threat Reduction business area, this makes for a rapid pace of technology development.
This is a multi-disciplined role where you will be expected to carry out multiple parts of the product development lifecycle. Over time and with guidance from the team, it is expected that the individual would be involved with requirements capture, electronic circuit design, PCB layout / design and embedded programming of electrical products being manufactured for the customer.
What will you need to be considered?
We would love to hear from highly motivated individuals with a passion for engineering and desire to understand how technology works. Along with this, you'll need the following:
A recognised qualification in Electronics or another relevant technical field (eg, degree or completed apprenticeship)
Previous experience of being involved in the design of electronic circuits and interfacing of various electronic systems to meet customer needs
Previous exposure to embedded electronic design and multi-layer PCB design
Experience of electrical testing on electronic circuits, understanding and experience in the use of standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters and function generators etc
Knowledge or experience in digital electronics using programable devices, and be familiar with C, C++ or Python programming languages would be beneficial
Strong communication skills and be comfortable speaking to both technical and non-technical people at different levels of seniority
The ability to capture requirements and conduct research to find appropriate solutions to technical problems
A willingness to support teams in offsite exercises and trials of manufactured products
Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be willing and able to work in designated areas.
