The Job Holder will lead, control and monitor the requirements, engineering and acceptance aspects of the PDS contracts regularly reviewing and reporting on progress against plan and, where necessary, intervening to resolve issues which threaten delivery to plan.  To achieve this it will be necessary to ensure that the project adheres in particular to all relevant engineering policies and procedures and that they are carried out in such a way as to ensure that there is minimal risk to the product safety and environmental.

The Job Holder will need to manage the engineering and acceptance aspects of Post Design Support contracts to ensure that they achieve all their objectives.  This will include maintaining good working relationships with the sub-prime vendor, BAE Systems Maritime Services, to ensure that the sub-contract is delivered and all that issues are effectively addressed.  To undertake this role, the Engineering Manager will need to ensure the wider BAE Systems KSA Naval Services team, and associated functional teams, possess the required resource and capability to effectively deliver the project in line with all requirements and that staff are led, developed and motivated to ensure they are aware of, and capable of, meeting their accountabilities.  To fully achieve this there will be a need to liaise with all functions relevant to the delivery of engineering and acceptance aspects of each contract to build an integrated project team and to enable the achievement of project objectives

The role requires the application of Engineering Management skills covering the entire Engineering lifecycle. The position is to lead on engineering and acceptance elements of the PDS contracts by direct and indirect management of the team and the sub-prime vendor in the delivery of the technical solution.  In the Prime Contractorship role, a significant aspect of the job will be the management to good effect of interfaces and relationships between the BAE Systems KSA Naval Services team, the sub-prime vendor, MODSAP Ships and the RSNF.
