Salary £30,317 – £32,581 pro rata

As the General Lighthouse Authority for England, Wales, the Channel Islands and Gibraltar we deliver reliable, efficient and cost-effective aids to navigation such as lighthouses, lightvessels, buoys and radio navigation, ensuring thousands of mariners navigate their way safely around the UK’s busiest waters. We are looking for a mechanically bias design engineer to join our team based at our Harwich depot. As part of the design team the role would require you to create and modify drawings and designs used within the business using the latest computer aided design software. You would also be expected on occasion to undertake site survey visits across our diverse lighthouse estate as part of a project delivery team re-engineering lighthouses. It is essential that you have a minimum of an ONC in a mechanical engineering discipline and you have previous experience of working within a computer based drawing management system.
