What to expect

AVA (Associative Vehicle Architecture) - The Identification, Creation & Embedding of CAD Automation to improve the efficiency, quality and Compatibility of Geometry and Engineering for JLR. The AVA team has a long-established history using an Agile approach through the adoption of SCRUM.

This role is to continue to guide and coach the AVA Development towards an Agile culture that reflects the core Values and Principles of Agile through working with the SCRUM Methodologies. The SCRUM Master is an integral part of the Agile SCRUM team and needs to be driven, empathetic and adaptable to ensure that our development teams have all they need to deliver maximum potential. This role will include working alongside the Product owners and Solution Architect on operational planning, resource alignment, Agile strategy, value analysis, prioritisation, customer coaching and project management. Whilst providing a creative mindset to identify opportunities of improvement and motivate individuals.

This role will may also require delivery to vehicle programmes.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Continuously coaching team members
Make sure that team members are well trained and understand the benefits of Agile values and principles.Supporting Agile Methodologies in development
Ensure effective adherence to SCRUM Methodologies, including facilitating associated ceremonies whilst ensuring that team members know their respective roles, have a sense of project ownership, processes are followed, and that teams are self-managed.Relentless improvement of the team based on data and evidence
Look for and act on opportunities to improve team working, skills, moral and delivery and every opportunity using empirical methods to define and measure the improvements.Assist the Product Owner with the product backlog
Help the Product Owners refine and maintain the product backlog using the information gathered from the development team. Utilise the holistic view across multiple sprint teams to assist with prioritisation/ scheduling meetings and writing user stories.Remove roadblocks
Help the team stay focused on the tasks that need to be done during each iteration by looking for distractions and roadblocks that can impede progress and mitigating or escalating them as needed to protect the team.Teach Scrum practices and principles
Act as a mentor and teacher to smoothly onboard new customers and team members to the notion of Agile and how it is used within our team.


What you'll need

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:
* Understanding of the Scrum process (or other agile equivalent) to agile teams.
* Experience of coaching the creation and refinement of the Product Backlog in support of early and continuous delivery of value.
* Experience of data-driven approaches that drive improvements to the operational efficiency of the team and the environment in which the team operate.
* Experience in coaching others in agile practices.
* A professional outlook that reflects the core behaviours implied by the Agile Manifesto
* Awareness of Product Engineering environment (automotive or other)
* Experience in Microsoft Office software.
* Good general PC skills


Desirable:
* Experience using JIRA to manage Agile Projects
* Experience delivering with an Agile team operation with SCRUM methodologies
* Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in project management.
* Technical and practical knowledge of geometrical development processes (CAD).
