An opportunity is now available for a Human Factors Senior Manager, to manage the Human Factors capability at AWE.

Location - Reading area

Package - £55,450 - £80,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

What's the purpose of this role?

You will be providing Human Factors direction and leadership in the design and assessment of AWE's production and research facilities and processes with the goal of improving system performance and reliability through the application of user-centred design and assessment.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Ensuring compliance with Company Assurance Environment, Safety, Health and Quality (ESH&Q) and statutory requirements

  • Providing an Intelligent Customer interface with Regulators at a corporate level

  • Providing subject matter expertise to Design and Peer review

  • Promoting Human Factors Review Learn and Improve

  • Overseeing the production of Human Factors assessments and other technical inputs to the design process and to safety cases and safety documentation for a range of facilities including radioactive, explosives and chemical plant

What will you need to be considered?

  • Specialist knowledge of human factors assessment methods

  • Expert working knowledge of Human Factors Integration into the design and assessment process

  • Experience in the field of human factors assessment for radiological, chemical and explosive hazards would be highly advantageous

  • Good levels of numeracy and literacy

  • Excellent report writing skills with ability to review and input

  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to explain complex concepts and technical data to all levels of the business

  • Demonstrable ability to engage with & influence decision makers

Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
