National Grid Electricity Transmission is at the heart of energy in the UK - we own and maintain the high-voltage electricity transmission network in England and Wales. Every time a phone is plugged in or a switch is turned on we’ve played a part - connecting you to the electricity you need.

About the role

If you want to see more of your children, help care for relatives, or simply get to walk your dog every evening then our flexible working arrangements will support you. You’ll have 25 days annual leave + the option to buy or sell holiday days, things such as 26 weeks fully paid parental or adoption leave, and back-up care service are standard. Our double-matched pension contribution scheme means your pension could be worth up to 18% of your salary and you’ll have the option to purchase discounted National Grid shares - our share price has risen over 30% in the past year!* On top of all of this we offer financial support for study and we are committed to your career development.

What you'll need

  • Degree qualification or equivalent in Engineering (preferably Electrical/Electronic)
  • Significant experience in a similar role within the Industrial or Utility sector
  • Excellent technical knowledge in the area of Protection & Control
  • Current full driving licence or willingness to learn promptly

We celebrate the differences people can bring into our organisation - operating in an inclusive culture we welcome and encourage applicants with diverse experiences and backgrounds.
