WHAT TO EXPECT
This position is part of the AVA (Associative Vehicle Architecture) team which are leading the way in the identification, creation, and embedding of Engineering Automation in order to improve the efficiency, quality and compatibility of Geometry and Engineering for Jaguar Land Rover.
The department's scope is the development of core AVA processes and consequently driving process change by building a significant proportion of the Body and Chassis Engineering AVA models. In addition to this, the team are also responsible for training both Body Engineering and Product Engineering's CAD-based engineers in AVA, and driving the successful use of AVA in live programmes.
This role supports Body and Chassis Engineering's major push in the development of AVA CAE Load Case Templates Automation to improve the efficiency, quality delivery and speed of Body and Chassis Engineering's component delivery. This is achieved by both delivering AVA CAE Templates themselves and by supporting the identification and specification of them.
This specific simulation role contributes to critical correlation activity ahead of the template automation to ensure the template is built efficiently within 3D Experience. This role will include the coaching and supporting of the wider templating team with your simulation knowledge. The position will also involve assisting in the scoping of CAE templates where they are technically challenging.
You will be completing correlation exercises for all AVA CAE templates in the 3D Experience platform and proactively interacting cross functionally with the wider CAE communities within the embedded CAE teams to agree correlation and learn from their manual methods. You will be positively guiding and supporting the automation team in their development of the automation with knowledge from the correlation activities, as well as driving methods development to support the technical areas in new CAE methods
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
You will be someone that has a strong desire to deliver engineering improvements in efficiency in the geometry creation process. You will have extensive experience of using CAE applications to aid correlation activities (Hyperworks, ABAQUS CAE, Ls-Dyna) and will have a strong understanding of CAE principles and end to end Finite Element Modelling methods.
You will have extensive experience working in simulation packages (Hyperworks and ABAQUS CAE Preferred but not essential) as well as a strong understanding of ABAQUS CAE and CAD Engineering tools. In addition to this, you will also be someone that can demonstrate that you have the ability to manage projects effectively.
