Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Reading / Basingstoke Area (office based)
Salary: £42,650 - £65,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

Working within the Warhead Engineering Surety Group, you will help develop components and sub-systems that contain pressurised equipment, structures, electrical sensors and chemical interfaces.
The team is made up of Engineers, Physicists and Material Scientists tasked to provide concepts, prototypes and validated engineered solutions to support Warhead technologies.
Additional responsibilities include:
Negotiating requirements and interfaces
Planning and managing the engineering development
Providing verification and test plans for engineering trials and tests
Providing system level documentation and presentations for periodic reviews
Candidates will need to have experience managing mechanical/chemical designs and specifications using design tools such as CAD / CAE as well as knowledge of product realisation and manufacturing techniques. Ideally previous experience of 3D solid modelling (Siemens NX, Solidworks etc), Teamcenter and generation of manufacturing drawings.
Though not to be considered a check list, candidates would also benefit from knowledge of ANY of the following however training can be provided:
PSSR and pressure vessel design codes
FEA/CFD knowledge
Stress analysis
Product testing and validation techniques
Fluid dynamics and hydraulic systems
Nuclear Safety assessment techniques
To be considered for the role, candidates will Ideally be professionally registered (Incorporated or equivalent) with equivalent academic qualifications (HNC/HND) and possess good communication skills.
Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be able to regularly travel to the US for partnering opportunities.
