Role - Quality Engineer

Location - Reading / Basingstoke Area

Salary: £Negotiable (dependent on experience)

You will provide Quality expertise and work as part of a cross functional team to deliver improvement through collaboration on projects and programmes.

Successful Candidates will be responsible for:

  • Coordination and performance of internal process/product audits.
  • Create the necessary quality documentation and maintain its accuracy.
  • Developing and implementing quality control systems.
  • Monitoring and analysing quality performance.
  • Collaborating with production and engineering to develop and implement controls and improvements.
  • Ensuring that workflows, processes, and products comply with safety/security/quality regulations.
  • Investigating and troubleshooting product or production issues.
  • Developing corrective actions, solutions, and improvements.
  • Reviewing specifications and processes.
  • Support delivery of technical assessments using appropriate methodologies and contributing to capability development.
  • Attend design/technical/defect reviews, and stakeholder meetings as required to ensure Quality is represented.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and other external partners.
  • Development of inspection and work instructions.
  • Work closely with a manufacturing team to make sure they follow quality protocols.
  • Strive for continuous improvement in the manufacturing process.

Whilst not to be considered a check list, candidates should be able to demonstrate some of the following:

  • ONC/HNC or equivalent in a relative discipline and/or extensive practical experience.
  • 2-5 years in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of Quality systems, processes & tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly and component drawings and engineering specifications.
  • Knowledge of operating measurement equipment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Experience of Management Systems and related standards (e.g., ISO9001:2015)
  • Good interpersonal/negotiation/communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management.
  • Good report writing and presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good problem solving, root cause analysis and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks and obtain results working within strict time frames.
  • Proficient in MS Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint & experience using Database/s.
