If you're a qualified Building Services Engineer with experience in managing a diverse commercial and corporate property portfolio, and you want the challenge of working in a fast-paced team, then we'd love to hear from you! You’ll be using your technical skills and knowledge to deliver the Building Maintenance Plan (BMP) which sets out all of the building maintenance requirements including capital investment, remedial work from statutory inspections as well as planned preventative maintenance (PPM).

Main Responsibility

  • To contribute to the provision of comprehensive infrastructure/mechanical and electrical services within the property portfolio, ensuring that the buildings’ M&E systems are energy efficient, maintained and fit for purpose.
  • To contribute to the introduction of energy saving initiatives and promote works to achieve increased efficiency and reduce costs and to liaise with client teams in this regard.
  • To undertake, monitor and supervise M&E engineering works (including alarms, PV’s, access systems and CCTV), ensuring repairs & maintenance are administered in a safe and timely manner
  • To undertake regular inspections/surveys of the estate for electrical systems, plant, machinery and equipment, to determine condition and establish priorities for future maintenance programmes and energy efficiency opportunities.
  • To investigate reports of service faults and failures, inspect/diagnose as appropriate and arrange for rectification by approved contractors, ensuring repairs & maintenance are administered in a safe, cost effective, and timely manner.
  • To ensure that all works and inspections are undertaken in compliance with all relevant legislation and health and safety requirements.
  • To ensure that property records and databases, including the Techforge Property system are updated in a timely manner
  • Provide professional advice and support to clients in fulfilling their duties under the CDM Regulations 2015. To act as Designer & Principal Designer under CDM Regulations 2015 for project works, liaising with the HSE where appropriate.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering degree accredited by either IET and/or IMechE and relevant experience (minimum of 5 years).
  • Significant (minimum five years) knowledge and working experience of electrical and mechanical engineering; together with improvement works and adaptations including the planning and implementation of work to completion and hand over.
  • In-depth understanding and working knowledge of building contract procedures and standard forms of contract
  • Significant experience of delivering and reviewing sketch, sketch schematic, detailed schematics, and technical design drawings, detailed design drawings, co-ordinated working drawings, installation drawings.
  • Significant understanding and working knowledge of IEE Wiring & Gas Safety Regulations, the Approved Code of practice in respect of water systems and asbestos management, building regulations and other relevant legislation
  • Demonstrates an in depth understanding and working knowledge of The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
  • Full clean driving licence and ability to work from any site
