WHAT TO EXPECT:
This role will develop powertrain new technologies and the geometry integration across the business, with input to all engineering team in the business including the vehicle programmes. The role will involve utilising virtual engineering tools to support the hardware development and problem resolution with cross-functional teams
Key accountabilities and responsibilities:
* Independently assess Powertrain component geometric compatibility.
* Arbitrate and drive for a resolution on geometric incompatibilities between Powertrain components.
* Support vehicle package team to resolve incompatibilities between Powertrain components and the rest of the vehicle.
* Generate concepts and novel ideas to optimise the packaging of Powertrain components.
* Deliver vehicle programme geometry as required
* Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Essential:
* Relevant experience viewing and manipulating geometric data to package components into a vehicle.
* Technical and practical knowledge working with the major components of an electric powertrain, including standards and design rules that govern their design and installation into a vehicle.
* Relevant experience working in a team of cross functional engineers to successfully solve a complex engineering problem.
* Previous programme delivery experience, with strong influencing and engagement skills
* Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
Desirable:
* Experience working with Catia V6 / 21X toolset including the ability to author geometric data.
* Strong team player with good communication skills.
* Experience of concept generation and cross functionality problem resolution
* Detailed knowledge and understanding of specific car components, or systems and sub-systems
* Experience of using Agile working methods and JIRA as a workload planning tool
