Lead Engineer - Problem Resolutions - Integrated Test Plan

WHAT TO EXPECT

We are looking for a Lead Engineer to specialise in Problem Resolutions in Integrated Test Plans to lead programme development and delivery ensuring the Commodity Strategy is deployed robustly into the programmes. Powertrain is one of the larger teams within the Jaguar Land Rover organisation. The department has complete responsibility for the design, development and delivery of all Jaguar and Land Rover interior and Exterior systems from concept design through to volume production.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

* Deliver the commodity plan to quality, cost, and time, including maintaining the Worldwide Engineering Release System
* Own and deliver the Engineering Advanced Product Quality Planning deliverables
* Manage Change Requests, expenditure forecasting and the relevant supplier teams in support of delivery of the programme milestones
* Manage design verification test plans, including detailed planning of test and development stages through to sign-off and support Engineering test teams with the rectification of issues
* Resolve compatibility with A-surfaces for technical feasibility, surrounding component packaging and vehicle attribute teams to develop designs that meet vehicle targets
* Ensure all appropriate Jaguar Land Rover standards are met throughout design maturation
* Provide input into new feature development
* Ensure all programme design solutions meet targets


WHAT YOU'LL NEED

The ability to work closely with the design department. You will be leading the delivery of CAD geometry and functional requirements through the Virtual Series Phase on time. You will be tasked with the delivery of Final Data Judgement (FDJ) deliverables, Production Release Geometry and Drawings (P Release), Preliminary Engineering Sign off (PEC) and Final Engineering Sign off on time.

You will possess the ability to manage problem resolution using recognised problem definition techniques and the Automated Issue Management system (AIMS) to deliver resolution in line with the programme metric.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential -

* Previous experience in leading the resolution of business, technical and process issues within a Project Team environment
* Good working knowledge of product creation & delivery, change control, product definition and change management processes
* Knowledge of automotive closure systems, Glass, plastics, rubbers, composites or BIW
* Able to create 2D sections and 3D geometry
* Awareness of GD&T application
* Experience in kinematic systems


Desirable -

* Systems Engineering knowledge
* Excellent communication and people skills, with influencing and engagement skills
* Previous experience within automotive engineering or test planning departments
* Knowledge of aerodynamics
* Knowledge of kinematics
* Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
